Where to buy knitting wool in Florence

Knitting is fashionable again, also in Italy. Several of my friends are knitting enthusiasts, and when they exchange ideas and techniques, I must admit that I feel lost. I did try my hand at knitting a pink sweater some decades ago because my multi-talented sister knitted one sweater after the other and I also wanted to be able to do that. The result, however, was nothing to write home about, and I never tried again.

Lured in with the promise of snacks afterward my knitting Dutch friends took me on a tour of the two most well-known yarn shops in Florence. In these knitting paradises, you will find everything you need for your knitting, crochet and embroidery hobby. Both shops have a wide assortment of yarn in all colors and all possible accessories.

If you are a knitting and crafts enthusiastic, these are the places where to buy knitting wool in Florence:

Campolmi Filati in Via Folco Portinari, 19-r, between Via del Oriuolo and via del Pucci, has its roots in the haberdashery shop that Emilio and Ida Campolmi managed in the 1930’s. With the wide range of products in their spacious shop, Campolmi Filati continues the ancient wool tradition in Florence.
